The latest Intel’s processor, Nehalem/Core i7 is expected to launch later this month. There will be two models available, which is 2.66GHz (Core i7-920) and 3.20GHz (Core i7-965) with the price range within $285 and $1000.
This processor architecture will scale from 2-8 processor cores connected with Intel’s QuickPath Technology, which provides faster chip-to-chip communication. The chips have capability to adjust the performance levels based on the usage. In addition, more logic circuit (such as SSE4.2) will be built-in onto the processor for a higher level of integration.
The processor also include the more scalable memory (each processor have its own built-in dedicated memory), which able to do more job simultaneously than the previous Intel’s processor.
The first reviews of Intel i7 microprocessor shows that this processor will easily surpassed the previous microprocessor technology. The reviews cover the Intel’s “SmackOver” motherboard (DX58SO Extreme Series) and Core i7-965.
